My name is Rachel Opp, but I blog under R. A. Opp because it sounds more authorial. Whatever. I’ve always had a passion for writing, but I only started developing this passion seriously about halfway through my college career. I graduated from SRU in ’12 with a B.A. in English Literature. I originally went to school for biology, and I still have some interest in that subject, but I am allergic to calculus. For lack of a better option, I switched majors, which kindled my interest in writing. I was always “pretty good” at writing, and I helped edit a district-wide writing publication when I was in high school. That was a fun experience, and I will bash heads together if I have to be editor-in-chief of anything ever again. Up until recently (mid-2013), I focused almost solely on poetry, with a focus on academic papers—in the interest of graduating. Now I’m expanding into short stories, flash fiction (thanks to a fellow blogger and published author), and a novel (that will never be published but I must finish anyways because I started it and it is my baby regardless of its flaws). I welcome feedback. I welcome advice. I welcome random posts about wheat toast with Nutella topping and banana slices as part of your complete breakfast. Enjoy.
